6406 Series at a Glance
A modular platform that scales from a small office job to a busier departmental mailroom.
The 6406 Series is built around configuration flexibility. Instead of one fixed layout, you choose from 2 to 6 stations and match feeder types to your actual document mix.
2 to 6 configurable stations
Choose from a high-capacity document feeder (up to 725 sheets), production feeders, standard and special feeders, and short feed trays.
Automatic divert station
Documents flagged for review are automatically delivered to a divert station instead of stopping the entire run.
Heavier folding capacity
Folds up to 10 sheets in half-fold mode or up to 8 sheets in tri-fold mode, with cascade mode linking feeders for continuous runs.
Optional intelligent scanning
An optional CIS scanner reads OMR, 1D/2D barcodes, QR codes, and OCR printed anywhere on the page.
Wider media range
Handles a broader range of envelope sizes and fold types, including C, Z, half, and double parallel.

Specifications can vary by configuration, media, envelopes, inserts, and options. Prairie to Peaks can review your actual mail pieces before recommending the final setup.
Best Fit
The 6406 Series fits mailrooms that need real configuration flexibility.
Buyers at this level usually have more than one document type moving through the same inserter, or need a way to catch problem pieces automatically instead of relying on an operator to notice.
The goal is a machine that can be built around your specific job mix rather than forcing your job mix around a fixed machine.
Good fit if you are mailing:
- Multiple document types that need different feeder configurations
- Jobs where flagged or exception documents need automatic separation
- Wider envelope sizes than a 6210 or 6308 comfortably handles
- Recurring runs that benefit from cascade-mode continuous feeding
Consider the 6608 Series instead if:
- You need up to 7 feed stations instead of 6
- Volume is approaching or exceeding 80,000 pieces a month
- You want the larger 10" touchscreen and higher-capacity envelope hopper
- You need a bigger top-loading envelope hopper (up to 500 vs. 325)
