Mail & Shipping / Envelope Inserters / 6308 Series

6308 Series inserters for growing offices that need more capacity than an entry-level machine.

Fold and insert more pages, run more feeders, and add optional intelligent scanning without stepping up to a full production system.

Prairie to Peaks reviews your mail piece, volume, and job complexity so the recommendation between the 6210, 6308, and 6406 fits how your mail is actually built.

6308 Series at a Glance

Built for offices whose mail has outgrown a basic tabletop inserter.

The 6308 Series replaced the discontinued 6306 Series with an improved touchscreen interface, easier envelope setup, and a visible insert area, while keeping the compact footprint offices need.

Four model configurations

Available in standard and special feeder configurations, both with and without intelligent scanning, to match the way your documents are built.

Visible insert area

A paper path window lets operators see the insert area without stopping or opening the inserter, cutting down on unnecessary downtime.

Locking envelope guides

A locking thumbwheel adjustment keeps envelope side guides accurate and consistent between jobs and operators.

Optional intelligence

Models with intelligence add a full-width CIS scanner reading OMR, 1D, 2D barcodes, and QR codes printed anywhere on the page.

AutoSet and job memory

AutoSet senses paper length, fold type, envelope size, and fold length, with up to 50 programmable jobs stored for recall.

Specifications can vary by configuration, media, envelopes, inserts, and options. Prairie to Peaks can review your actual mail pieces before recommending the final setup.

Best Fit

The 6308 Series fits offices that have outgrown a basic tabletop inserter.

Most buyers at this level already have an FD 6104 or similar low-volume inserter that can no longer keep up, or they are combining multiple feeders' worth of hand work into one job.

The goal is more feeding capacity and thicker document sets, with the option to add scanning if job accuracy and document matching matter.

Good fit if you are mailing:

  • Statements, invoices, or notices in the 5,000-40,000 pieces/month range
  • Document sets that regularly run 3 or more sheets per envelope
  • Jobs that would benefit from OMR or barcode-based matching accuracy
  • Mail that needs more than one or two feeders to build correctly

Consider the 6406 Series instead if:

  • You need more than 3-4 feed stations or more modular flexibility
  • You want a dedicated divert station for documents needing inspection
  • You need options like a thin booklet feeder or 402 Series joggers
  • Volume is pushing toward the upper end of what the 6308 handles

Compare by Volume and Complexity

Will a different model work better for you?

Use this section as a quick guide, not a final answer. The right inserter depends on what you mail, how often, how many pages per envelope, and how much room your process needs to grow.

Review whether the 6308 Series is the right level.

Share your volume, document types, inserts, envelope sizes, and current hand work. Prairie to Peaks will help determine whether the 6308 Series, 6210 Series, 6406 Series, or a larger inserter is the best next step.
